2012 Committee List

If you are interested in volunteering at the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo, this list will help you to determine which committee you may be interested being a part of.   Note: Openings must be available on the committee of your choice and volunteers must be approved by the Director/General Chairman in charge of that committee.

Advanced Ticket Sales This Committee works diligently to sell as many tickets as possible prior to the day of the Rodeo performance. Bowling Tournament Plans, organizes and operates the annual Bowling tournament
Advisory Board The Advisory Board is made up of all Past Vice Presidents who provide guidance and information based on their years of service to our association. Bus Trans. Transports the public to and from the cook-off.
Aesthetics Responsible for the Logistics of BBQ and Rodeo setup.  This is the committee for Construction, BBQ & Rodeo Decorations, Set up of signs, fences, piping, assist with setup of Spur Club and the arena Spur Club, Arena signs, fence signs, flags, sponsor signs, water hoses for Cookers and security of the fence line. Design and Setup of the cook team spots for Cook-Off and the location of their booths. Calf Scramble Plans and organizes the calf scramble
Badging Creates prints and issues all volunteer badges. Cowboy Church This committee arranges for church services on Sunday morning of Rodeo.
Beauty Pageant The Beauty Pageant committee provides young ladies an opportunity to participate in a beauty contest by demonstrating poise, beauty, and community involvement. Diesel & Light Towers Maintain and keep all light towers fueled during all events.
BBQ Beer Sales This committee is responsible for all beer sales during the BBQ Cook-Off. Stocking of beer booths, set-up of the beer booths, inventory, and transfer of product to beer booths and stores from the delivery truck. Beer Stores sells beer directly to cooking teams and vendors. Energy Services Set-up and power up the grounds for all events
BBQ Chuck Wagon A favorite among the volunteers, this committee serves breakfast, lunch and supper to hungry and tired volunteers during the BBQ Cook-Off. Equine Host all equine events including an Open horse show (Pinto and Paint point approved), Play-day and other related events, sell sponsors, brisket sale, holds a sponsor appreciation reception & Rodeo raffle.
BBQ Information The general public can always find help locating cook teams with the efforts of this committee. Facility Services Maintenance Set up and maintain all grounds, signage perimeter fencing for all events
BBQ Jail House This committee takes your friends and locks them up until someone feels pity for them and pays the bond to get them out. It is always ready to carry you to the jail house. During cook-off they have raised lots of money for the general scholarship fund. Finance Reconciling cash from sales during Rodeo and Cook-Off
BBQ Jr. Chili Cook-Off / Backyard Cook-Off The BBQ Jr. Chili Cook-Off provides a place for youngsters to demonstrate their cooking skills.  All of the area school children are invited to participate.  Each member of the cook team receives a trophy. & the Backyard Cook-Off. Golf Carts Maintains and issues golf carts during the BBQ Cook-Off that are listed on the golf cart list.
BBQ Judging This committee sets up and manages the judging of the cook-off entries. Golf Tournament Plans and organizes the annual Golf Tournament
BBQ Pass Gates The pass gate committee controls the outer perimeter pass gates that allow badged volunteers and wrist banded cookers. Grand Entry Organizes all participants in the grand entry.  Works closely with the Rodeo announcer and sets up the various committees on when the committee will participate in the Grand Entry.
BBQ Team Reps Meets and greets cookers upon arrival and helps to get them checked in and settled.  Help cookers with their needs during the BBQ Cook-off, tagging and pick-up of briskets, distribution of all judging container.  They are a major component of the cook-off success. Heavy Equipment Operate and assist with any heavy equipment during all events
BBQ Tractor Shuttle This committee checks in the Bands and cookers and provides help in getting their large equipment in and out. Hispanic Heritage Organizes and plans the Hispanic events
Livestock Show – Auction This committee invites buyers to the livestock Auction.  Organizes the meal, the structure of the event. Hostess Subsidiary of the Livestock Auction committee. They serve at the Livestock Auction
Margarita Judging Oversees the judging of the margarita entries during the BBQ Cook-Off. Ice Deliver and sell ice to cookers, keep all beer booths stocked with ice.
Media Liaison between all media and Pasadena Rodeo. Livestock This committee is responsible for anything that has to do with FFA students and their animals.
Medical Takes care of all the medical and first aid problems during the Rodeo season. Kick-Off Auction This committee sets up and organizes the annual auction.
Membership Picnic This committee organizes the membership picnic. The membership picnic is a public invited event and a time for volunteers to renew their membership. Kick Off Dance Get everyone excited and pumped for Rodeo season by planning, organizing the kick-off dance
Membership Committee Sign up of new members at picnic and other events / contacting committee chairman about rosters & new member placement Legal Provides legal advice for the Rodeo association
Mutton Bustin’ This committee sets up opportunities for small children to ride sheep just like grown up bull-riders.  Each child receives an award. Little Wrangler Rodeo Works with special needs children by creating and organizing a Rodeo for these children.
Newsletter Creates and send Rodeo news to volunteers Silver Spur Club – Arena Sells alcoholic beverages during Rodeo
Non Alcoholic Beverage Anything that is not alcoholic, inventory, responsible for the coke trucks Silver Spur Club – Bartenders Tend bar for the Silver Spur Club
North Beer Stand Sells beer on north side of arena Silver Spur Club – Beer Keeps track of all Silver Spur Beer
Office Committee Helps during Cook-Off and Rodeo. Silver Spur Club – Equipment Keeps track of all Silver Spur Equipment

PLS&R Kookers Plan menu, cook and serve public food during the BBQ Cook-Off Silver Spur Club – Suites Serves the Executive Suites
Programs Distributes programs during the Rodeo Sound Responsible for setup and take down of sound equipment for entertainers and other committees as needed
Quick Response On Grounds Fire Department South Beer Stand Sells beer on south side of arena
Radios Maintains and issues radios during the BBQ Cook-Off Special Needs Shuttle Transports people with special needs during cook-off
Retirement Provides a reception inducting new retirees and other invited guest include all retired directors, vice presidents, and presidents Sponsors Sells sponsorships
Rock’N RVs Manages the RV campers during cook-off and Rodeo Star Contact Contact with all entertainers
Rodeo Arena Handles livestock, preparation of the arena, hang sponsor signs – basically anything that do with the operation of a Rodeo Star Hospitality Responsible for all entertainer meals
Rodeo Sales Booth Set up and sales of the Rodeo souvenir booth Star Security Responsible for security of all entertainers
Rodeo Ushers Helps the public to their seats during the Rodeo performances Thunder Run Organizes the motorcycle events
Safety Ensure safety on the grounds during the event comply with all safety rules Ticket Accounting Keeps track of all gate ticket income

Silver Spur BBQ Cook-off Sells Beer during Cook-Off Tokens Keep track of all beer sells
Traffic Control Control the traffic on Fairmont Pkwy and the control of traffic access to grounds. Guides the public to parking areas during the events Trophies Orders all trophies and ribbons
Trail Ride Organize and operate a trail ride during the 1st weekend of Rodeo Wrist Bands Order and distribute wristband to cookers
Trash & Sanitation Responsible for all trash pickup Youth and Education Volunteers under 16
